Fairtrade 100% Arabica | Medium Roast | Strength 3/6
We are delighted to introduce our brand new Peru Amoju single origin coffee beans, which are exported directly to us from our microlot on the banks of the Maranon River in Peru.
Since forming in 2016, our cooperative of 340 growers has been dedicated to practices which mitigate climate change, with the entire production process taking place on 3-5 hectare farms where the best nursery grown seedlings are selected to be planted.
Our coffee growers have technical and artistic skills in their hands. Possessing ancient wisdoms in coffee farming, which are poured into their agricultural practices that meet the highest ecological and social standards.
It is the skills of our farmers and diverse nature of Cajamarca’s unique micro-climates and altitudes which yield not only the traditional flavours of a Peruvian coffee such as caramel and cacao, but in Peru Amoju you will be able to find notes of berries and prunes.
In every cup you will discover deep and rich sweet profiles within a rich body, defined by a delicate yet mouth-watering sweetness with hints of dry apricot and a fruity yellow plum like acidity.
THE COOPERATIVE
The coffee growing lands of our Peru Amoju are located in Cajamarca and Amazonas, between 1550 to more than 2000 meters above sea level, the two regions with the highest coffee production in Peru.
Our coffee growers have access to the technology and training necessary for the proper technical management of planting, harvesting and post-harvesting. This includes the adaptation of crops to climate change, with sustainable farms that reduce the loss of biodiversity.
"We are the energy that is born in our lands and reaches the buyers, as a result of the union and the organised work of more than 1320 coffee growers from diverse zones, forming a great community of cooperatives with a single objective: to offer the best specialty coffees to the world." - The Yakumama | Coffee Cooperative
