Kokebi Coffee vs Overtone Brewing Co’s Vanilla Latte Stout

Overtone Brewing Co Box Selection
At Kokebi Coffee we are unsurprisingly obsessed about all things coffee, especially when we are getting the day started. There's nothing better than your favourite freshly ground blend filling the room with its beautiful fragrance before your first sip.

If you're not a morning person, there are plenty of reasons to enjoy your favourite blend into the evening too! It might be a decaf, a lighter blend with an after dinner cheese board, or a Vanilla Latte Coffee Stout... Wait, coffee beer? You heard correctly, and we're very excited about it too!

As we write this article we are delighted to announce our collaboration with the phenomenal Overtone Brewing Co is just getting underway. Based in Glasgow, Overtone are a well loved and respected independent brewery, producing the finest craft beer made with only the freshest natural ingredients since 2018.

For this latest brew, head brewer Dan Miller and his team are using Kokebi Coffee's own Super Crema blend as the base for this forthcoming Vanilla Latte Coffee Stout and we can't wait to try it! Super Crema is a perfectly balanced blend of 50% arabicas and 50% robustas. The flavour is intense and complex with notes of roasted nut, dark cocoa and sweet cedar wood, complimented by a creamy mouthfeel, going a long way to bring out the richness of this brew collaboration!

While it will be several weeks until this collaboration from us at Kokebi Coffee and Overtone Brewing Co is ready, we couldn't wait to share this latest exciting news drop with you all. In the meantime, take a look at the Overtone Brewing Co website which is packed full of freshly brewed beers waiting to be enjoyed! We particularly recommend It's Bounty Happen and Dusty Miller Stout, perfectly decadent stouts for those cold winter evenings!

Beans stay fresher for longer, and so your coffee should taste better, too. As soon as green coffee beans are roasted, they start to release CO2, which affects the taste. They will oxidise and slowly start to go 'stale' and have a flat taste after a while. When coffee is ground, there is a higher surface area which is exposed to oxygen and that will cause them to lose their freshness faster, so it's best to keep coffee beans whole as close to brewing as possible. Treat your coffee beans similarly to potatoes: store them in a dark, dry place. It's best they are kept in a container or the bag they come in to stop oxygen and moisture getting in.
