Cold Brew Coffee: Recipes for the Summer

Cold Brew Coffee Coffeerecipesforthe Summer 1920w jpg

If you’re looking to serve up delicious coffee this summer, while taking advantage of the hot weather to enjoy something a little cooler, we recommend cold brew coffee as the perfect place to start with our variety of recipes.

Making cold brew coffee is simple, and as it infuses slowly it tastes incredibly smooth and sweet which makes the perfect base for iced coffees. With this method and our delicious list of recipes using your cold brew coffee, you’ll be making delicious barista quality coffee from home in no time!

Here’s How:

Step One: First take one cup of coffee beans and grind them coarsely as discussed in our grinder article. The slow infusion pulls maximum flavour from your coffee beans without bittering the flavour.

Step Two: When grinding them, use short sharp bursts until the coffee beans resemble course meal.

Step Three: Transfer your coffee meal to a container and pour in four cups of water and gently stir.

Step Four: Now seal your container and place in the refrigerator for twelve hours and allow your coffee beans to steep.

Step Five: Once you have finished steeping your coffee, remove the container from the fridge and strain your cold brew coffee through a sieve and coffee filter to remove any trace of the coffee grounds.

Step Six: And you’re done! Transfer back to your container and you’re now ready to enjoy perfectly made cold brew coffee. Store your cold brew coffee in the fridge for up to one week.

For our cold brew coffee method we highly recommend using our Intensoblend, which is not only ideal for cold brew coffee, but works perfectly across our range of recipes below.

Quick steps to personalise your perfect cold brew:

  • If you prefer a stronger cup of coffee, make your cold brew recipe stronger by simply adding half a cup more at the start of our process.
  • Make sure your beans are coarsely ground.
  • Use filtered or bottled water if possible.
  • Steep for at least 12 hours.
  • Keep it cold and serve with ice.
  • If you want an even colder brew, without dilution, why not transfer some of your freshly steeped cold brew into an ice cube tray to freeze and serve in your drink?
